UNEXPECTED INTERRUPTION

Highly complex structures can at times be disrupted by rather minor elements, creating something new and unanticipated. The name TOAST is repeated, disassembled and re-assembled until an architectural image emerges. Repetitions of a visual pattern on different levels, adding and subtracting the surfaces, reminds us of the constant transformation of a cityscape. The same that the artist has repeatedly reshaped over the years through his graffiti and large murals. The artist defines this group of works as the “total self-destruction of the ego”.

Hochkomplexe Strukturen können bisweilen durch eher unbedeutende Elemente gestört werden, wodurch etwas Neues und Unerwartetes entsteht. Der Name TOAST wird repetiert, zerlegt und zusammengefügt bis ein architektonisches Bild entsteht. Repetitionen auf verschiedenen Ebenen, addieren und subtrahieren der Flächen, erinnert an die stetige Wandlung eines urbanen Stadtbildes. Dieselbe, die der Künstler im Laufe der Jahre durch seine Graffiti und grossen Wandmalereien immer wieder umgestaltet hat. Diese Werkgruppe definiert der Künstler als die «Totale Selbstzerstörung des Egos».

Des structures très complexes peuvent parfois être perturbées par des éléments plutôt insignifiants, ce qui crée quelque chose de nouveau et d’inattendu. Le nom TOAST est répété, décomposé et assemblé jusqu’à ce qu’une image architecturale apparaisse. Les répétitions à différents niveaux, l’addition et la soustraction des surfaces, rappellent la transformation constante d’un paysage urbain. Celui-là même que l’artiste n’a cessé de transformer au fil des ans par ses graffitis et ses grandes peintures murales. L’artiste définit ce groupe d’œuvres comme «l’autodestruction totale de l’ego».
